The
TECbridge workforce skills training program is designed to equip
unemployed and underemployed workers with the technical tools needed to
enter the workforce. TECbridge is a multi-tiered training program that
provides students with a basic introduction to computers, including
instructor-led foundational and intermediate level instruction in the
basic Microsoft applications used in today’s office environment.
Students
also have access to a Web-based training system that offers instruction
in more than 2,200 different courses, which can be tailored to learning
pathways leading to readiness for certification testing in a variety of
Web-related fields, such as Web Development, Database Development,
Technical Support and Network Administration.
The upcoming series of
TECbridge classes kicks off with an IT Career Discovery course in which
students explore employment options in the IT sector. Using online
assessment tools, students discover the jobs and career paths they are
most likely to enjoy and find financially rewarding.
The
TECbridge classes meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 until 9 p.m. for 4
weeks. Subsequent computer training courses last approximately 10 weeks
each. Classes are held at the HTC/HP Computer Lab.
